Air Date
It’s officially been confirmed that Line of Duty season 6 will premiere on Sunday, March 21st at 9pm.
A dramatic teaser trailer has been released showing a very tense stand-off.
Fellas, we are GIDDY at the thought of having a weekly, nail-biting episode of Line of Duty to dissect. We also can’t wait to conjure up some wacky theories and to hear all of yours.
Roll on March 21st!
The Plot
Season 6 will focus on Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson, the senior investigating officer of an unsolved murder, whose unconventional conduct raises suspicions at AC12.
Line of Duty creator and showrunner Jed Mercurio has described Davidson as "the most enigmatic adversary AC-12 have ever faced".
Expect many twists and turns that always keep you guessing. Martin Compston aka DS Steve Arnott previously teased an epic "bombshell" of a plot twist midway through series six. Compston told the Radio Times that something big happens at the end of episode four.
The Cast
Our beloved AC-12 trio will be back in action nicking bent coppers. Adrian Dunbar will return as Superintendent Ted Hastings, Vicky McClure is back as DI Kate Fleming and Martin Compston will reprise his role as DS Steve Arnott.
Trainspotting star Kelly Macdonald will play the guest lead, Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson.
Shalom Brune-Franklin, Perry Fitzpatrick, Andi Osho and Prasanna Puwanarajah will also join the show for season 6.

What Happened At The End Of Season 5?
Season 5 focused on one of television's biggest mysteries: Who is H?
Well, it turns out the elusive high ranking police officer with long running links to organised crime known as 'H' isn't just one person: 'H' is in fact four people.
At the end of the show's fifth season, it was discovered that Dot (Craig Parkinson) had actually been tapping out the Morse Code for H (four dots) during his dying declaration all those years before. That video was recorded by Kate Fleming at the end of season 3 after her iconic high speed lorry chase.
So, we now know that Dot, ACC Derek Hilton and the curly blowdry connoisseur herself, legal counsel Gill Bigaloe make up three, but who is the fourth corrupt officer?
We're expecting to see AC-12 sniff out the final piece of the puzzle in the upcoming season but we already have so many questions.
Is it still possible that Ted is, in fact, bent after all despite being exonerated?
Could the likes of Nigel Morton, DCS Patricia Carmichael or DCI Ian Buckells make a comeback?
Don't forget the OG OCG member Ryan 'the bent bastard' Pilkington (Gregory Piper) is now training to be a police officer so get ready for the Caddy 2.0.
And we know she was locked up at the end of season four, but we'd also love to see the return of Roz Huntley.
Episodes
Season 6 will be the show's longest series yet. It'll consist of 7 episodes instead of the typical six, making it the longest in the show's history.
Will There Be A Season 7?
Line of Duty season 6 hasn't even aired yet but Adrian Dunbar has already been chatting about the possibility of a seventh season.
Speaking on the Graham Norton Radio Show, Dunbar said: "I think as long as there's an appetite from our audience for the show, we'll keep going. Why would we stop?
"We've managed to keep the standard, Jed (Mercurio, the show's creator) rather, has managed to keep the standard so high for so long, and people love the show. I hope it does go on.
"But of course everything is finite, I see Peaky Blinders is coming off after six fabulous seasons. When it ends, it will end, and we'll have all had the most wonderful time."
